Situated on the banks of the river Sarayu, Faizabad is a small developing town of Uttar Pradesh. The city was founded by Ali Vardi Khan, nawab of Bengal in the year 1730 and was later developed by his successor, Shuja-ud-daula who made it the capital of Awadh. Several beautiful buildings and monuments are scattered all over in Faizabad, which were built by the Nawabs.
