Eravikulam is located in the Idukki district of Kerela. Surrounded by Rolling Meadows and blue hills, Eravikulam is famous for its exotic wildlife sanctuary, which encompasses an area of 97 square kilometer. The park sets in the idyllic backdrop of Anaimudi, the highest peak in the Western Ghats. Eravikulam National Park was established in 1975 with the primary objective to protect and save the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, a species of wild goat. It is now known to have the largest population of Nilgiri tahr in the world. Crisscrossed by many splendid streams, Eravikulam National Park is home to the Atlas Moth, Elephants; Lion tailed Macaques, Langur, Tigers and Leopards. The park harbors around many rare and engendered species of flora and fauna. Around 120 species of resident and migratory birds including Nilgiri Wood Nilgiri Pipit, Flycatcher, Pigeon Kerela Laughing Thrush and White-bellied Short wing nest in the deep jungles of the national park. Eravikulam bears a salubrious climate through out the year. However, the ideal time to visit the wild life reserve is between the months of September and December.

Munnar, which is 15 km away from Eravikulam, has many budget hotels, mid range rest houses and plush hotels.
