Spread over the foothills of Kumaon, Jim Corbett National park is one of the oldest wildlife reserves in India. It was established in 1936 and was named in the memory of the famous Indian born Irish hunter and conservationist, Jim Corbett. Home to the majestic tigers, Jim Corbett Park boats an amazing assortment of flora and fauna. Beside wild cats, the park inhabits Deer, Wild Boar, and Himalayan Black Bear and other lesser-known animals. Around 50 mammals' species, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species are found in the deep jungles of the reserve. The park authorities organize an early morning jeep safaris and elephant safaris for the tourists. The ideal time to visit Jim Corbett National Park is from November to June.
