The ancient temple of Shri Mallikarjun is situated at Canacona in Canacona taluka. It is believed to have been constructed in the mid of the 16th century by the ancestors of the Kshatriya Samaj and refurbished in the year 1778. The temple is dedicated to Lord Mallikarjun, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Surrounded by Blue Mountains and lush greenery, it houses more than 60 idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The main attraction of the temple is its intricately carved massive wooden pillars. Rathasaptami in February and' Shigmotsav in April are the festivals of note, which draw large crowd.
