Shri Datta Mandir at Sanquelim is situated at the foot of a beautiful hillock covered with thick grove of Areca palms. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Dattatreya that is the combined form of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, the holy trinity of Hindu mythology.

Shri Datta Mandir is known for the miraculous cure for mental troubles. The deity is believed to have cured many people of unsound mind. Goa temples remains the venue of important Datta Jayanti festival, which is celebrated in the month of December or January. Hordes of devotees throng from all across the country to take part in the celebration.
