Shri Damodar temple is situated on the banks of the River Kaushavati in Zambaulim-Sanguem, which is 22 km from Margao. Locally referred as Panti, this holy river is said to have medicinal properties, which cures all skin diseases. It is respected by both Hindus and Christians alike. Shri Damodar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva which is in goa. The beautiful idol of the lord was brought to its present location in the year 1567 when the Portuguese destroyed the original temple and built the Church of the Holy Spirit in its place.
